“The result is a degree of engagement that arguably goes beyond even live theatre. From the get-go, the audience is immersed in the action. The drama dial is turned to max. The claim to have created a new art form is vindicated…OperaGlass Works seems well set to succeed in bringing its operas to the broader audience that eludes so many other production houses. Brava!”

We have various plans in development. We are writing a libretto for a new opera which we have commissioned - of which more news to follow - and we are in discussion about an exciting new collaboration.

Our next project, however, is to make a film of La Traviata. We will be shooting in the autumn in the countryside and an exciting venue in London.

Our creative team will be Tom Piper, set design, Rosalind Ebbutt, costume, Etta Murfitt, choreography. Selina Cadell and Eliza Thompson (OperaGlass Works) will produce and direct.

Our cast includes; Susana Gaspar, Violetta, Thomas Elwin, Alfredo, Roderick Williams, Germont (role debut). Richard Hetherington will conduct.

We are starting our fundraising campaign. If you would like to donate to this wonderful project, please visit our Support Us page.

Visit our La Traviata page for more information and to stay in touch, go to our Contacts page and subscribe to our occasional newsletter.

The Return of the Screw

We are delighted to be able to tell you that our new plan is to make a movie out of this fabulous project. It will not be a live capture of the original production but a new realisation that encapsulates the spirit of it. We will use the entire and magnificently atmospheric building of Wilton’s Music Hall to shoot in. The same team are of course on board. Our brilliant designers Ros Ebbutt, Tom Piper and Vince Herbert and the wonderful cast of singers and musicians led by John Wilson.

Shooting starts in October.
